How did you attract/address your target audience?
Our movie 'True Disguise' is rated a 15 certification, therefore this made it slightly easier for us to attract our audience as we know where to find them. This is on social networking sites such as Facebook and Twitter. We also put our opening sequence on YouTube and received a lot of feedback from target audience. The main factor which attracted our younger bracket of target audience ( 15-20) was the protagonist and this is because she is a young female facing many issues such as social awkwardness in her life that is a common issue between these specific ages. The higher bracket of audience (21-35) were also able to relate to this film as the protagonist is shown to be around the age of 34 and is a business woman dressed in formal attire.
In order to record some feedback from the opening title sequence, I interviewed a target audience from the lower age bracket
The person I interviewed is a 16 year old female and she said the following :
' After watching the opening sequence of your film 'True Disguise' I was sitting there, amazed just wanting more! The camera angles and shots used are very effective and helped me to identify the genre of the movie which is Romantic Comedy. I was also starting to feel a connection with the lady in the sequence which I'm guessing is the protagonist and this shows that if this was a real movie I would want to watch all of it to find out who she is and why she is walking around London. The setting is also brilliant! The London Eye is very iconic and shows that a lot of thought has been put into this sequence helping you conform to the ideas of a Rom Com. Also, the season chosen which is Christmas just adds to the genre as a lot of Romantic Comedies are set at such times e.g. Bridget Jones Diary. Overall I really liked your opening title sequence and I identified the genre well which means you have done a great job attracting the correct target audience'
